About

We are a small group of Quinte residents who are committed to providing safe haven to sexual and gender minority refugees fleeing dangerous situations. We also hope to provide a compassionate and welcoming environment here in the Quinte area where they can build a better life, free of fear and persecution.

We are close allies and supporters of All-Together Affordable Housing Corporation, a not-for-profit housing agency which provides housing for low income persons. It is also the only housing agency between Toronto and Ottawa offering housing options for our LGBTQ2 family.

We are also proud of the many connections and partnerships we have created within our communities to assist some of our most vulnerable individuals.

We know from our own community experience that we can make a difference in people’s lives, and that in the case of LGBTQ persons fleeing persecution and possible death, we have the unique opportunity to also save lives. We know that:

More than 2.7 billion people live in countries where being gay is punishable by prison, lashes or even death.

Being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender is illegal in almost 80 countries.

And we know that our work begins with one campaign, one person, one life!

We are pleased to be officially partnered with Capital Rainbow Refuge in Ottawa with its dedicated staff and volunteers and years of experience working with LGBTQ refugees.

“We believe through our actions that we will demonstrate the humanity, and the value of the lives of people who are LGBTQ” – Capital Rainbow Refuge

“Whoever saves just one life saves the world entire”
